1. Introduction

MimiTalk is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the MimiTalk mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following when you create an account: your email address (used for login via Firebase Authentication) and an optional display name. If you use the app as a guest, an anonymous user ID is created for you. We do not collect payment information, precise location data, or sensitive personal information.

When you make a purchase, we also store a record of which lessons you've unlocked and your lifetime-access status, linked to your account. We do not collect or store your payment card details — purchases are processed entirely by Google Play.

To keep the app running well, we also collect technical data automatically through Google Firebase: device or app-installation identifiers, app performance data, and diagnostic information. This data is not used to identify you personally.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to create and manage your account, enable access to app features and lesson content, and improve the app experience over time.

We also use this information to restore your purchased lessons and lifetime access if you reinstall the app or sign in on a new device. Technical data is used only to understand and improve app performance and stability.

4. Data Storage

Your account data is stored securely using Google Firebase, hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Firebase complies with international data protection standards.

5. Third-Party Services

MimiTalk uses Google Firebase for authentication, database, audio file hosting, and app performance monitoring. See Firebase's privacy policy at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Purchases within MimiTalk are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details — Google handles all payment processing according to its own privacy policy.

6. Advertising

MimiTalk contains no advertisements. We do not share your data with advertisers.

7. Children's Privacy

MimiTalk is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.

If you delete your account, your account, purchase and lesson-access records are deleted from our systems along with it. We may keep technical data that does not identify you personally, such as app performance and diagnostic information. This does not affect any purchase record Google Play itself keeps for your Google account — if you create a new account using the same Google account, previously purchased content may become available again automatically.

Delete Your Account

You can delete your MimiTalk account and data at any time.

1. Delete Directly in the App

Open MimiTalk → Settings → Delete Account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, profile information, and any saved data.

2. Request Deletion by Email

If you no longer have the app installed, email [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We will delete your account and data within 14 business days.

3. What Data Is Deleted

Your name, email address, profile photo (if set), account login credentials, and any saved lessons or bookmarks.

4. What Data May Be Retained

After deletion, we may keep technical data that does not identify you personally, such as app performance and diagnostic information. Purchase records held by Google Play stay with Google under its own policies.

Welcome to MimiTalk. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MimiTalk mobile application (the "App"), operated by MimiTalk, a sole proprietorship registered under India's Udyam (MSME) scheme, based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India ("MimiTalk," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MimiTalk. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may only use the App with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

2. Description of Service

MimiTalk is a listening-first English learning application that provides audio-based lessons organized into categories and lessons. Some content is available free of charge; additional content may be offered through in-app purchases or subscriptions, as described in Section 5.

3. Accounts

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account, keep your login credentials secure, and notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. You may delete your account at any time through the in-app account deletion feature or via the request process described above.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the App's underlying code or audio content for redistribution; copy, resell, or redistribute MimiTalk's lessons, audio recordings, or written content without our permission; or interfere with or disrupt the App's functioning or servers.

5. Purchases and Subscriptions

Some lessons and features may be offered as paid in-app purchases or subscriptions. All payments are processed through Google Play Billing. Purchases, refunds, and cancellations are subject to Google Play's own refund and billing policies. MimiTalk does not directly process payments or issue refunds outside of Google Play's systems.

6. Intellectual Property

All lessons, audio recordings, text, graphics, logos, and other content within the App are the property of MimiTalk and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use this content for personal, non-commercial learning purposes only.

7. Free Content and Changes to the App

We may add, modify, or discontinue lessons, categories, or features at any time, including changing which content is free or paid. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes, but we do not guarantee that any specific lesson or feature will remain available or free indefinitely.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific learning goals or outcomes.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MimiTalk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.

Refund Policy

1. Purchases Are Processed by Google Play

All purchases in MimiTalk — individual lesson unlocks and Lifetime Access — are one-time purchases processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We do not process payments or handle refunds directly.

2. Requesting a Refund

To request a refund, please use Google Play's own refund process: open the Google Play Store app, go to Account > Order history, find your MimiTalk purchase, and select "Request a refund" or "Report a problem." Google Play handles most refund requests directly and has its own policies on eligibility and time limits.

3. Contacting Us Directly

If you are unable to resolve a refund request through Google Play, or have a specific issue with a purchase (such as a lesson not unlocking after payment), please contact us at [email protected] with your Google Play order number. We will review requests on a case-by-case basis.

4. No Refunds for Partial Use

Because lessons are unlocked in full immediately upon purchase, we do not offer partial refunds based on how much of a lesson's content has been accessed.
